Designed especially for the Pediatric Eyecare Professional

The Smart System PC-Plus was developed for, and by, pediatric eye care professionals. Features such as hands-free fixation allow the doctor to control the child’s visual attention easily. This is helpful while performing a retinoscopy. Or the illuminated LCD keypad is designed to display what is being projected on the LCD monitor. This allows the pediatric eye care professional to maintain their focus on the child.

Smart System FirstTest

A quick and easy protocol for visual acuity screening

The Smart System FirstTest™ Vision Screening software was developed to increase the quality of vision screening of children. It captures amblyopia, strabismus, and identifies differences in the development of the eyes at a very early age. This technology includes a standardized test by age group, thereby reducing errors and interpretation. Furthermore, it conforms to the vision screening requirements of the America Academy of Pediatrics.

A significant advantage of FirstTest is that the screening can be conducted by a non-eye care professional. In a high volume screening environment such as schools, city or county vision programs, volunteers, parents, or others can conduct the screening with minimal training. The user simply selects letters or symbols, type of test, and age of the child or patient. Then, the screening begins.

Fixation Animations and Videos

This exclusive feature allows the user to access the content playing in the media drive for instant fixation for pediatric eye care when needed. There’s no waiting for the disk to spin-up, nor is there a need to select chapters or titles. Users can create their own patient education videos to play on demand. The PC-Plus comes with several short, colorful animated clips and 5 new animated movies for fixation. Alternatively, users can choose from 8 different commercially-licensed fixation videos. The animations are 1-2 minutes long. Each video is between 25-35 minutes long. All of them will auto-repeat after completion.
